Happy Canada Day

Happy Birthday Canada! Thanks for the long weekend.

Canada Day was formerly known as Dominion Day and it is a celebration of the anniversary of Canadian Confederation in 1867.

Being a Northern country, Canadians are more than eager to get outside to celebrate this statutory holiday in the warm sunshine that they missed during the cold winter months.

Picnics, fireworks, concerts and everyone enjoying their time together are common occurrences on Canada Day.

I took this brief break in rainy weather to get outside myself. As always, I took as many great pictures as I could before my photographic mission was accomplished.
